Domenica 26 febbraio alle ore 11.00, con una solenne concelebrazione presieduta dal vescovo monsignor Leonardo Bonanno, è stata riaperta al culto la Chiesa Madre, ora più accogliente nella sua imponente bellezza.
Molti i lavori eseguiti in questi mesi: rifacimento degli intonaci interni deteriorati; tinteggiatura con nuovi colori o meglio “vecchi colori” perché, con l’aiuto e la consulenza dei restauratori, sono stati ripristinati i colori originali; restauro delle dorature degli stucchi e dei finti marmi; levigatura e lucidatura dei pavimenti; completo rifacimento dell’impianto elettrico della chiesa e della sacrestia;
sacrestia completamente rinnovata e arredata con un nuovo armadio realizzato dal falegname Fabrizio Ioselli.
Un doveroso grazie a S.E. Monsignor Bonanno, che ha chiesto e ottenuto dalla CEI, per la nostra Chiesa, un sostanzioso contributo, senza il quale non avremmo mai potuto realizzare questi lavori;
ringrazio don Massimo e don Andrea Caglianone, attuale direttore dell’ufficio tecnico diocesano, per aver sostenuto questo progetto; ringrazio il direttore dei lavori, ingegnere Stefano Cittadino, che con indiscussa competenza e professionalità ha progettato e seguito accuratamente i lavori;
ringrazio i responsabili dell’impresa Horus, Marco De Seta e Antonio Mazza, per i lavori eseguiti con serietà e nei tempi stabiliti; un particolare grazie ad Antonio, sempre presente nel cantiere per guidare e coordinare modalità e tempi di questo delicato lavoro; ringrazio i tanti lavoratori messi a disposizione dalla stessa ditta, per questa riuscita opera di restauro (muratori operai pittori elettricisti);
ringrazio i competenti esterni, chiamati ad eseguire i lavori maggiormente e immediatamente visibili all’occhio dell’osservatore che entra nella chiesa: la ditta Andrea Avolio, che con la squadra dei pittori ha curato la tinteggiatura; i pazienti levigatori Giovanni e Gianbattista Curia che hanno ridato splendore ai pavimenti, lavorando anche nei giorni festivi per consentire la riapertura nel giorno programmato; il restauratore Rosario Columbro che ha curato il restauro delle dorature e dei finti marmi;
ringrazio monsignor Leonardo Bonanno per aver accolto l’invito a presiedere la Celebrazione e i confratelli concelebranti monsignor Ermanno Raimondo, don Massimo Aloia, don Colbert; ringrazio gli amministratori comunali presenti: l’assessore Giuseppe Spanò, delegato dal sindaco, il consigliere di maggioranza Angelo Sirianni, i consiglieri di minoranza Mauro Avolio e Sandra Ricco e il comandante della polizia locale Mario Spadafora; Ringrazio il sindaco Francesco Tripicchio che ci ha concesso l’uso della sala “Otto Apel”, dove in questi mesi di chiusura della chiesa Madre è stata celebrata la Santa Messa;
Ringrazio infine i fedeli per la pazienza con cui hanno accettato gli inevitabili disagi, durante i lunghi mesi della chiusura. dg
