Si sono appena conclusi i festeggiamenti in onore di Maria SS. del Rifugio, patrona di Acquappesa.
Intensa e partecipata è stata la preparazione al grande evento durante il novenario, che ha avuto inizio giorno 23 giugno con l’intronizzazione della Statua, in vista dei festeggiamenti dell’1 e del 2 luglio: due momenti tanto attesi dagli acquappesani e dai tanti devoti dei paesi limitrofi.
Don Franco Lonetti, parroco in Crotone, anche quest’anno con la sua attività liturgica ha accompagnato i fedeli in questo cammino di fede. Durante le sue riflessioni sulla parola di Dio ha invitato i presenti a vivere secondo gli insegnamenti del Signore, con umiltà e devozione, stimolandoli ad impegnarsi in un percorso di conversione.
Le giornate sono state animate da gruppi di fedeli provenienti da Intavolata, Terme Luigiane, S. Iorio e Acquappesa Marina, nonché dalle comunità di Cetraro e Guardia Piemontese, che si sono avvicendati nei giorni della novena dando il loro valido contributo in onore della Madonna del Rifugio.
Il primo luglio, giorno tradizionalmente dedicato alla visita della Madonna nella frazione Marina, la statua Sacra è stata accompagnata in processione sul lungomare e lungo via C. Colombo per poi sostare davanti alla Chiesa del Sacro Cuore dove Don Giacomo ha celebrato la Santa Messa. Nell’introduzione il sacerdote ha ringraziato pubblicamente don Franco, amico e ospite graditissimo della comunità e profondamente legato alla Madonna del Rifugio. Dopo aver esortato i presenti a vivere nella fede in Cristo secondo i dettami del Vangelo, al termine della solenne Celebrazione Eucaristica, ha salutato la Madonna. Subito dopo è iniziato il cammino di ritorno. La processione si è conclusa nella Chiesa Madre dove, come consuetudine, molti fedeli si sono fermati tutta la notte omaggiando la Madonna con canti e preghiere.
Il due luglio, festa patronale, le funzioni religiose si sono svolte nel capoluogo, sede della Parrocchia intitolata alla Vergine. Alle ore sette Don Franco ha presieduto la celebrazione della Santa Messa nella Chiesa Madre gremita di pellegrini che, come ogni anno, da Cetraro hanno raggiunto la meta a piedi. Alle ore dieci la S. Messa a cura di Don Giacomo ha preceduto la processione nel centro storico.
I cortei di preghiera che hanno seguito la Madonna in questi due giorni sono stati accompagnati dalla banda musicale “F. Curcio” di Amantea.
I fuochi d’artificio allo scoccare della mezzanotte hanno chiuso il sipario dei festeggiamenti, lasciando vivi nei nostri cuori i bagliori della fede.
Ci sentiamo in dovere di ringraziare tutti coloro i quali hanno contribuito alla buona riuscita della festa, con particolare riguardo a Don Giacomo che, attraverso la sua sapiente guida, ci aiuta a vivere degnamente e con crescente spirito di fede questi importanti appuntamenti; avviciniamoci con semplicità, umiltà e devozione alla Madre del Salvatore nella consapevolezza che la Vergine ci offrirà rifugio e protezione.
