AGLI ANZIANI E AGLI AMMALATI – ALLE FAMIGLIE – AI GIOVANI
In occasione della riapertura delle chiese per le celebrazioni con il popolo, in data 19 maggio ho inviato un saluto ai ragazzi del catechismo.
In questo post il messaggio è rivolto agli anziani _ ammalati, ai giovani e alle famiglie.
Chiedo scusa per la lunghezza e pazienza per la lettura.
AGLI ANZIANI E AGLI AMMALATI
Carissimi anziani e ammalati,
sento il bisogno di scrivere anche a voi, persone in genere abbandonate e lasciate sole, devastate da preoccupazione e paura, soprattutto in questo periodo di emergenza sanitaria. Non mancano per fortuna lodevoli eccezioni di familiari, che con dedizione e amore si prendono cura di alcuni di voi.
So bene che non tutti avete confidenza con le moderne tecnologie di comunicazione, ma spero che qualche vostro familiare, un figlio/a o un nipote, possa leggervi questo messaggio.
Da più parti vi arriva l’invito a rimanere nelle vostre case e, ora che si riaprono le chiese, vi viene chiesto anche di rinunciare alla celebrazione della Santa Messa, momento particolarmente atteso per molti di voi.
Persino i vescovi invitano alla prudenza, ricordando che si è dispensati “dal precetto festivo per motivi di età e di salute”. Questo significa che anziani e ammalati possono validamente partecipare alla Santa Messa, trasmessa dalle varie reti Tv.
Premesso che sarete sempre voi a decidere ciò che è giusto fare e che la vostra presenza è sempre gradita, a dire il vero neanch’io mi sento di incoraggiarvi a frequentare le chiese, almeno in questa prima incerta fase, pur sapendo che a molti di voi viene chiesto un enorme sacrificio.
Infatti, come è noto, “voi” siete la categoria più esposta a questo malefico e insidioso virus.
In realtà dovrei dire “noi”, perché chi scrive non è un giovane sacerdote, ma un anziano come voi.
Se fosse possibile passerei anch’io più tempo in casa, ma il Signore mi chiama a stare in mezzo alla gente ed è quello che continuerò a fare, con convinzione, sapendo di avere dei limiti, che spero non danneggino la comunità a me affidata.
Carissimi, voi siete la parte più fragile e più debole della comunità, per questo siete anche la parte a me più cara.
Le disposizioni rigide di questi mesi mi hanno impedito di incontrarvi. Ora posso assicuravi che potete contare su di me. Finché il Signore mi darà forza per portare avanti la mia missione, verrò nelle vostre case, con la dovuta e richiesta prudenza, per portare il conforto dei sacramenti o semplicemente di una presenza.
Siete l’anello più delicato della comunità, ma anche quello più prezioso, perché con le vostre sofferenze, offerte con amore a Gesù, e le solitudini riempite di preghiera, continuate nel silenzio a tenere in piedi l’intera comunità. A voi la gratitudine, mia e di tutti.

ALLE FAMIGLIE
Care coppie di sposi, con o senza figli, non è ancora passato il periodo di prova, perché alle preoccupazioni di un possibile contagio, si aggiunge la paura per l’incertezza del futuro e per le abitudini di vita, cambiate radicalmente.
Questa pandemia, infatti, ha provocato anche una preoccupante crisi economica. Molti soffrono per la mancanza di lavoro, le aziende ripartono a fatica o non riaprono, diventa insostenibile sostenere le spese per fitti, tasse e bollette varie.
La comunità parrocchiale è vicina a tutte le situazioni di vero disagio e, per quanto è possibile, non vuole abbandonare nessuno.
In una situazione così complessa, capisco che diventa difficile parlare di fede. Eppure dobbiamo farlo, con la consapevolezza che c’è qualcosa o, meglio, Qualcuno a cui poterci aggrappare. Qualcuno che non delude, che vigila, ci cerca e pazientemente aspetta che lo accogliamo.
Sarebbe bello se questo tempo, che ha fermato la nostra fretta, imponendoci la riflessione, e, distanziandoci, ci ha tolto i gesti più familiari, ci avesse fatto riscoprire il desiderio di respirare aria più pulita, aria di cose vere, senza farci prendere eccessivamente dagli affanni terreni.
Sarebbe bello se ci avesse fatto risentire il bisogno di dare più spazio e tempo alla preghiera e restituito il gusto di ritornare con assiduità in chiesa.
Sarebbe bello se ci avesse fatto capire che abbiamo bisogno di rapporti più veri, più solidali, più sinceri; se ci avesse reso persone desiderose di dare e ricevere amore.
In questi due mesi Gesù ha bussato discretamente alle porte della nostra casa e del nostro cuore e in tanti modi ci ha parlato (cfr. Ap 3,20).
Sappiamo bene che il tempo della prova può rendere più buoni o indurire nella cattiveria.
Se Gesù non ha bussato inutilmente e siamo riusciti a cogliere la Sua discreta presenza come una richiesta di radicale cambiamento di tanti nostri comportamenti, certamente troveremo la forza di perseverare nel bene e di sradicare da noi quel velenoso orgoglio, che origina l’indurimento del cuore.
Troviamo l’entusiasmo e il coraggio di aprirlo e non lasciamolo fuori dalle nostre case, come troppe volte è successo. Porterà il sorriso e la gioia. Quella vera.

Cari giovani,
è stato certamente difficile per voi, carichi di energie e di entusiasmo, rimanere chiusi per due mesi tra le mura di casa.
Ma il legittimo desiderio di tornare, immediatamente e in modo incontrollato, alle abitudini di prima potrebbe essere una forte e pericolosa tentazione.
Girano in tv immagini di persone e, soprattutto di giovani, che stanno a strettissimo contatto, senza mascherine, segno prepotente del desiderio di volersi riappropriare della propria vita, della libertà, degli spazi, del tempo da vivere insieme.
È comprensibile l’atteggiamento disinvolto e spontaneo tipico dell’età giovanile, ma credo sia giusto affermare che questo è il momento di gestire con responsabilità i propri comportamenti, le relazioni con le persone, perché non si vedano più quelle tragiche scene di tante persone, che in questi mesi, in un attimo, sono state travolte da questo virus e, in piena solitudine, senza una carezza, hanno chiuso gli occhi per sempre.
Cari giovani, sono convinto che voi avete abbastanza intelligenza per capire che il tempo presente impone cautela e prudenza.
Con grande realismo la Parola di Dio richiama la nostra attenzione sulla precarietà della vita: l’uomo è “come l’erba…al mattino fiorisce e germoglia, alla sera è falciata e secca” (Salmo 90, 5-6).
Probabilmente in questi mesi, che in modo brutale ci hanno fatto capire la fragilità dell’uomo, vi sarà capitato di riflettere un po’ di più sul senso della vita, della morte, di quello che sarà di noi al termine del cammino terreno. E forse qualcuno avrà risentito il richiamo della fede, il desiderio di riavvicinarsi a Gesù, spesso troppo dimenticato e messo da parte, eppure l’Unico che può dare una risposta alle nostre inquiete domande e un senso alla nostra vita.
Sono certo che voi in fondo siete generosi e capaci di saper riempire le vostre giornate con gesti di tenerezza e di vicinanza verso le persone più deboli, tra le quali potrebbero esserci i vostri nonni.
Mi ha fatto molto piacere sentire che una giovane ragazza si è proposta spontaneamente per entrare nel gruppo dei volontari che accolgono i fedeli in chiesa, ora che iniziano, con grande difficoltà, le celebrazioni con il popolo. Un bel modo alternativo per dare un senso al proprio tempo.
Un bel gesto che spero spinga tanti altri. Conto sul vostro entusiasmo. Si, perché la comunità parrocchiale non può essere affidata ai soli anziani. È necessario il coinvolgimento di tutti, in particolare dei giovani, oggi molto di più. Forte di questa convinzione, oso chiedervi un segno di adesione al mio invito. Grazie.
